Print Magazines for UnLtd India

Big Little Things that really matter

We collaborated with UnLtd India, a launchpad for early-stage social entrepreneurs, to produce Big Little Things, a four-part print magazine series that aimed to inquire and deliberate about the different facets of our lives. The magazine, available for free, aimed to introduce Paper Planes’ audience to the work of the social entrepreneurs, supported by UnLtd India, who are relentlessly to make the world a better place. Each of the four issues — themed around Excess, Well-Being, Work and Coexistence respectively — was conceptualised to hone in on a set of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals from a more contextual, cultural perspective. We produced an in-depth editorial and design strategy for each issue, commissioned writers and designers to work on a variety of formats from comics and interviews to long features and puzzles, managed end-to-end production, printing and distribution (via The Paper Planes Shop), and ran online outreach to boost sales and awareness about the project.

Over the four issues, in order to increase the reach of the project, we brought in diverse voices such as writer Rega Jha, designer Harpreet Padam, photographer Anurag Banerjee, writer Meera Ganapathi, historian Aanchal Malhotra, writer Sejal Mehta, singer Raghav Meattle, and many more.

Each issue of the magazine focused on a different concept, each a key idea for sustainable development.

The Co-Existence issue, for instance, looked at various aspects of nature and the wild.

Excess, the first issue, was released at the onset of the pandemic and sold out within a week.

Each issue creatively introduced a different set of UnLtd India’s social entrepreneurs.
