A Launch Party for How About Now

Celebrating ideas for a sustainable world

To celebrate the launch of the newest independent print magazine on the block, we organised a launch party at The Craftery by Subko in Byculla, Mumbai, attended by more than 100 people. Keeping in mind WorthWhile’s core values, we wanted to create an immersive experience for the magazine’s first readers. We designed lasting wooden usherette trays and a metal standee to be used for many events to come, along with t-shirts made with sustainable materials to be worn by the editorial team behind How About Now — who are also our very own folks at The Paper Planes Agency. A large screen in the space also looped a short film of a flip-through of the magazine. These details were made to spark meaningful, engaging and fun conversations about sustainability.

The evening also hosted notable experts working in the space of climate, governance, and sustainability for a panel discussion about investing in ideas for a sustainable world. The panel comprised Antaraa Vasudev, the founder of Civis; Kartik Chandramouli, the digital content editor at Mongabay India; Tanmay Takle, the Engagements Manager of the UN Climate Champions Team; and Kirti Poonia, the co-founder of Relove, in conversation with WorthWhile and How About Now founder Jinisha Sharma. The discussion was followed by a live acoustic performance of popular songs themed around sustainability by singer-songwriter Vernon Noronha. Throughout the event, we had refreshing craft beer on tap courtesy Bombay Duck Brewing, our beverage partner.

We designed custom usherette trays to display and distribute copies of the print magazine.

In line with the brand’s sustainability principles, we designed custom signage that can be reused for a long time.

The flip-through of the magazine, screened on loop, formed the backdrop to a lively evening.

The editorial team behind How About Now — all part of The Paper Planes Agency — was hands-on to get the magazine to its readers.

The event’s programming — whether the panel discussion or the musical performance — brought in a diverse set of city dwellers interested in building a more sustainable world.

Readers also went home with a swish How About Now canvas tote.
